However, a lot of people are not aware about how they can make money with YouTube. In this article am going to explain the various ways to make money with YouTube for a complete beginner.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING A YOUTUBE CHANNEL

YouTube does not allow monetizing from Copyrighted content. So you cannot monetize by uploading Movie Songs, Movie Trailers or other copyrighted videos unless you buy publishing license for the same. You may upload videos that are exclusively marked as copyright free. However, In order to avoid any copyright claims in future, it is always better to create your own videos.

Your videos must comply with YouTube Community Guidelines

Steps To Make Money With YouTube

1. Create YouTube Account And YouTube Channel
Creating YouTube Account is simple. Just open YouTube and Sign In using your Gmail credentials and you will be redirected to your YouTube Homepage.

By default, every YouTube Account is associated with a channel. However, I recommend setting up a new channel as the main channel uses your Google Name which you may want to keep different for Gmail and YouTube.

For creating a new channel just open your YouTube Account Settings and click on Create New Channel and enter the name of your channel and category for the same. Remember to create a Channel name that best describes your Channel Content.

Once you have created your channel, switch to using YouTube as Channel. Now you will have the option to add your Channel Logo and Artwork that best describes your Channel.  You can then click on About Tab, to add a description for your channel and also add an email where you want to get business inquiries.

So now your channel is all set for uploading Videos.

2. Create Catchy Videos
This is the toughest part. Creating a video that would appeal to the masses is never easy. And if you want to make big money with YouTube, you should be able to make Videos which can go Viral and get you many Subscribers.

You can make Videos about anything you know the best,  as far as it complies with YouTube Community guidelines mentioned above.

Make sure you upload high-quality videos shot with a good quality camera, as they are known to get more views.

3. Get More Viewers And Subscribers
This is very important. The more the viewers you have, the more your can earn. Getting people to subscribe to your Channel will ensure more returning viewers.

In order to get more viewers, you must use proper keywords in your Video Title and Description so that your video is displayed whenever people search for a keyword. You can also promote your Video on Social Media websites like Facebook, Twitter, and Whatsapp. If you have your own blog, do make sure to write related articles and embed your YouTube Video within the article.

4. Make Money With YouTube Adsense
In this method, you will be allowing YouTube to embed advertisements within your video. You first need to Enable Monetization for your channel, after which your YouTube videos can be submitted and approved for Monetization. However, to earn the revenue generated through this ads, you must link your channel with Adsense. Following are the exact steps you must follow

1. Log-in to your YouTube Account
2. In the channel settings select Monetization and then click on “Enable Monetization”. If you are not sure where to find it, use this Link
3. In the Following screen, you will be asked to accept Terms And Conditions. Accept the same and Submit.
4. In the Top Bar, you will now see the following message

Almost There! Don’t Forget To Link Your Channel To An AdSense Account To Earn Money And Get Paid For Your Monetized Videos.

5. Click on “Link My Account” in front of the above message. You will then be asked to either enter details of your existing AdSense account or create a new one. You can choose whatever is applicable. In Case you are a creating a new account, you will have to wait for your Adsense account approval. Once your account is approved you can start monetizing from your videos
6. To enable Monetization for a video, you can go to your Video Manager Tab. You Will now see a Small “$” sign in front of the videos which are eligible for monetization. Clicking on it will open the video setting page, where you can Enable “Monetize With Ads” Option.

If you are using a copyrighted video, you will see a copyright notice in front of the video and the person claiming the copyright can display ads on the said copyrighted video even if its you who have uploaded it. In the case of a false claim, you can file a dispute.

However, it is very important that you develop a loyal audience before monetizing through Adsense. Advertisements are known to be turn offs for first-time visitors and you may just end up on losing side. Also, if you do not have enough viewers, you Adsense Approval request may be rejected. So try to develop enough viewers and subscribers before monetizing your Videos.

To Keep a track of your viewers, you can check YouTube Analytics.

5. YouTube Partner Program
If your Channel starts getting popular and receives a lot of views, you can then become eligible for becoming a YouTube Partner. Though, there are no definite criteria for becoming YouTube Partner. Some people have claimed to get it approved with less than 10 videos and less than 100 Subscribers.
As a YouTube partner, you get access to more advanced tools for improving content on your channel. Your videos too, get more exposure thus increasing your earnings.

6. Monetize Your YouTube Videos Through Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate Marketing is another way of making money from your Videos. In this method, you will be reviewing or promoting certain affiliate products or services in the video and providing a link for the same in the description. Whenever someone uses that link to buy the said product or services, you will be paid a fixed commission for the same

In fact most YouTubers have claimed to earn more money through affiliate links than through advertisements.

6. Paid Reviews
If you are into reviewing products or services and if you have a high number of visitors, you may be approached by businesses belonging to your Niche to review their products for a fixed amount. However, you may only be approached for paid reviews if you are among the best YouTubers in your Niche.

7. Fan Funding
YouTube allows you to add a “Support Channel” button to your channel after you meet certain YouTube Criteria

Fan funding as of now is limited to channels from the following countries.
Australia
Japan
Mexico
United States

So if you do not belong to any of the above countries then you may not use this method for monetizing.

8. Drive Traffic To Your Blog
If you are a blogger, then YouTube is a great way to drive traffic to your Blog. All you have to do is, include a link to your Blog in video Description and appeal to your viewers towards the end of the video to visit the link. You can then use this Incoming traffic to monetize through advertisements or Affiliate links at your Blog.

CONCLUSION
YouTube is a great platform to exhibit your talent and at the same time monetize from it. Though, with huge competition around, making a video that goes viral is never easy, but if you manage to make one, you can become a celebrity overnight.
